RETUL bike fitting was created by Danbax76
Hi everyone

I've been meaning to post something about the bike fitting that David and myself had in february for quite some time!

Due to a number of requests i've finally got my a*se in gear to write this and put the details up.

The lady who does it (Judith, ex GB age group triathlete) is an old work friend of mine and she said that if a number of the club were interested then I could negotiate a discount. The full price for the bike fit is about £150 but it is a very thorough process including analysis of flexibility, muscle group domininance etc and then you get to wear sensors that gauge your position whilst pedalling on the turbo trainer. (See attached pic) You also get full reports that give you all the feedback and also once fitted there is a 'frame chooser' function which allows those on the hunt for a new frame to find out which will fit them within whichever particular price bracket they are looking in.

Let me know who is interested and I when we've got a total I will get in touch with judith and see what she can do for us.

I'd be up for this as well. Towards the end of May would be better but obviously flexible depending on free dates and numbers!

Oh and the "frame picker" aspect I've seen down at a Retul user near our London office (using someone else's data), would be good because I have a couple of frames in mind but want to check sizes.

Are you two in matching Rapha jerseys? Put me down as a possible.

Haha! No the zip on my jersey went so I had to borrow Di2's to keep my modesty! I don't own any Rapha gear *sniff*

Hi Dan

Did the fitting make the bike feel different or change your position much?

Yes it made a massive difference for me, some very simple changes that really made a difference, not so much in terms of comfort. But certainly in power delivery. It all seems to be based around angles of the various parts of the body such as knee flex etc so its something that you just cant do by eye.

There were less changes to Davids position but I know he still says that it was worthwhile.

So if i'm not mistaken we have 6 possible takers.

I'll contact Judith and see what she can do discount wise.

I should have mentioned that she is based in Newark Notts. But thats just a quick whizz up the A1 and in reality not that far away.

Thanks Dan, I know from adjusting position on Thursday during warm up why someone suggested a 120 stem now but will be interesting what the system says. Best look at the saddle I want beforehand so I don't immediately go and mess things up!
