Minutes from previous meeting

  • The minutes from the previous meeting were agreed

Committee roles and objectives for 2016

  • The roles as appointed at the 2015 AGM were confirmed

  • A key objective of the committee in 2016 is to actively promote the various events, rides and race events throughout the year

  • There was an acknowledgement that the organisation of some of the events in 2015 could have been better planned, something the committee will address going forward

Events for 2016

  • Wide eyed and Legless

    • The funding and route have been agreed

    • Final arrangements ongoing with the destination venue

  • SNCC Reliability Ride

    • The inaugural reliability ride is currently being planned

    • The route will be 60 miles (c.100km)

    • Target participant numbers is 100 with an entry fee of £3

    • As an open event a question was raised as to whether the club is required to inform the relevant authorities and to secure any insurance

    • StWa to liaise with BRCC who run a similar event each year

    • RiOs to share local club contacts with StWa in order to publicise the event as widely as possible

    • All profits to go to charity.  Charity yet to be confirmed

  • Race Series

    • RiOs to share the race series dates

    • First race weekend is 5-6 March 2016

    • The SNCC race will be held on 10 April 2016 as part of the handicap series

    • A further SNCC race will take place on 26 June 2016 as part of the summer season

    • It was recognised that with limited entries afforded to the club, and the increasing number of club members racing, there is a need to canvas for potential entries as soon as possible

    • RiOs will be emailing the membership before the Christmas break asking for names

  • The Hell of St Neots

    • Dates, route and timings to be confirmed

  • Hot Cross Bun Ride

    • The route and timing are to be confirmed

    • The event will take place on Friday 25 March 2016

  • NCRA Race weekend (2 day event)

    • This will take place on the weekend of 18-19 June 2016

    • Further details to follow

    • Priority will be given to those riders who have helped out at other race events

    • RiOs to share the race calendar with DaHe for wider circulation via the SNCC website and social media

  • Alconbury Series

    • No dates have been confirmed

    • Races are expected to be run on Tuesday evenings

    • SNCC are expected to host 2 events, dates TBC

  • Club TT

    • This will continue to be run on the Abbotsley course throughout the summer

  • Inter-club TT series

    • Arrangements are close to being finalised

    • The club is looking to have 10 SNCC members entering each event

    • The club are to host the inter club hill climb. Possibly the last week in September at Sharpenhoe.

  • Hill Climb

    • Date and venue to be confirmed

    • It was felt that a change of venue from the current Staughton Moor route is required

  • SNCC Autumn Breeze Sportive

    • Venue has been booked

    • The event will take place on 2 October 2016

  • Ashman Trophy

    • Date to be confirmed

  • Yorkshire Dales weekend

    • Planning is in the early stages and further details are to follow

  • Silverstone TTT

    • Date and details to be confirmed

    • SiRin has agreed to be event champion for this event

  • The committee agreed to look at setting a budget against each of these events to assist with items such as entry fees

SNCC Annual awards Dinner

  • The consensus was that this year saw a very successful event with a pleasing number of members (and their partners) attending the event

  • £200 has been donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance from the proceeds raised on the night

  • DaHe has volunteered to provide a write-up of the evening

Kit Design and Supplier Presentation

  • SiRin and ToDu presented an overview of several new kit designs in an effort to bring the SNCC kit up to date

  • An analysis between differing kit suppliers was also provided

  • The new kit designs were well received well and GaNe will email the designs to the committee members for further consideration

  • The supplier choice was narrowed to either Castelli or continuing with Endura

  • The Castelli samples provided were of better quality and the price point was similar, however  Endura’s sliding discount is more generous making them slightly cheaper overall

  • SiRin to speak to Castelli with regards their pricing model

AOB

  • A revamp of the membership card is being investigated by the committee, led by DaHe

  • IaBu to look at the cost of providing “In case of emergency (“ICE”)” wrist bands as part of the membership pack

  • The committee were sad to hear that Brian Morley, a previous chairman, press secretary and race results secretary in the 1990s, has died recently at the age of 81

  • The committee are to provide a wreath on behalf of the Club for the funeral

  • SNCC are also to send a flower tribute to the family of Ron Bousted who was recently killed in a traffic accident during a ride

  • The next committee meeting will be held in the Dickens Room of the White Horse in Eaton Socon on Monday 18 January 2016 at 19:30.
