Minutes from previous meeting

  • There were no minutes to discuss

Feedback on Awards Dinner

A general debate was held concerning how to encourage more members to attend the Awards Dinner.

  • List of trophies on offer for the season to be publicised before March - GN
  • New trophies to cover non racers to be devised. More than likely Strava based as this is the best method for record keeping and confirmation. (distance, climbing etc) – All
  • Additional Women’s trophy to be decided. This would increase the new women’s trophies to three – AD
  • TT30 and off road trophies to be retained.
  • Friday would be a more suitable day
  • It was felt whilst the food was better at Wyboston the venue was soulless and didn’t work as well. The Disco was not well supported this time. The Golf Club, if they have improved their food and service should be looked at again. If we do plump for the GC then we need to involve Steve Blows as he can potentially acquire a discount as he is a member of the GC. – SW

Kit

  • An up to date stock list should be put on the website – IB
  • Four pairs of Endura Leg Warmers have been discovered and should be included in the list and sent to IB – RO
  • The latest kit order is set to land at the end of January

Yorkshire Dales

  • The Dales bike centre do not have any suitable dates for us this year.
  • Alternative suitable accommodation is few and far between, although the search continues. RO / ALL
  • 2018 should be provisionally booked now – RO
  • Investigations should be undertaken to ascertain if there is the appetite for a foreign bike trip instead – SR

Reliability Ride

  • Publicity on Social Media is in full swing
  • Details regarding on the day organisation were scant. GN to speak to GL to get an update on where we are. – GN
  • No leaflets have been printed so far. Who did the printing last year?
  • Route is to remain as 2016
  • Trade stands need to be sorted. MyPinnancle, Broken Spoke – GN / GL
  • Can we use the mailing list obtained from prior year Sportive entries – RO
  • We should be advertising the BRCC RR in our weekly bulletin - GN

General

  • Ahead of receiving a “proper copy” of our CW article a scanned copy should be uploaded to the website and Facebook – GN
  • AD has agreed to be an Accredited Marshal for the club. GN to provide details as to what this would entail. The club will finance any expenses incurred.
  • The club is looking to organise a family ride around Grafham Water during the February half term – RO
  • To promote CX within the club the club will look to ascertain whether there would be anyone within the membership who would be willing to be the CX champion. This would not be a committee position. GN
  • Is there mileage in having members sponsor certain trophies? GN
  • 2nd claim members will no longer be eligible to be awarded club trophies. However as part of their membership they will still be able to enter club based competitions and enjoy the same benefits as 1st claim members.

Time Trialling

  • Is there a requirement for the club to continue its ECCA affiliation – SR
  • The club TT and inter club dates have been provisionally decided and should be submitted to the website. There should be a separate web page for each competition. - SR
  • To kill several birds with one stone the 2017 Hill Climb will more than likely take place in conjunction with the Inter club Hill Climb at Sharpenhoe. Feasibility to be undertaken. – SR/SW

Road Racing

  • Meeting for the 3rd & 4th Cat riders is to be organised for Thursday 26th January – GN
  • In view that the club will be hosting three road rides in 2017, all sponsored riders should marshal one race in return for the sponsorship from the club. GN/AL
  • To improve promotion for sponsors the club should look at having sponsors for our road races. The sponsors would commit to the prize money. GN
  • Any admin issues re the above to be investigated. RO

AOB

  • Are we holding a Hell of St Neots this year?
  • Has the payment to the charity for our sportive been made?

  • Topics for discussion will be how to incentivise the women members of the club to become more involved and how to encourage more women members into the club.
  • Website review
