St Neots CC Time Trial results for 16th June.

Ed Porteus, fresh from his recent 3rd place in the Tour of Cambridge TT (see below), making his 2016 SNCC TT, debut took 36 seconds from the club members' course record, previously held by Ian Turner, delivering a 24.06 time at almost 28 mph around the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course. Well done and congratulations to Ed and for how long will David McGraw (guest rider) hold onto the outright course record of 23:58 - or will it be beaten by the end of this season.

Nic Pillinger was also in form recording his best TT of the season with a 26:06 to take second place with our regular guest rider, Karl Hiner, taking third spot amongst the 20 riders who had overcast conditions to deal with and a wind that was not doing the riders any favours around the course.

The course yielded 3 PBs on the night from Ed, Gareth Smith and Roger Silk. Ed took 39 seconds off his PB, Gareth 13 seconds and Roger 7 seconds.

Good to see Jon Sheasby, on his regular cross bike, make his TT debut on the Abbotsley course with an impressive opening time 29:44 and we look forward to seeing more of Jon this season.

So far this season 42 members have taken part in the TT and with 144 current members we would encourage anyone who has not tried the TT to come along on a Thursday evening and enjoy!.

23rd June 2016

This Thursday’s time trial takes place at the Croxton junction about a mile to the east of Abbotsley village with sign on at the latest at 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start. Non-members are welcome to "Come and Try".

Ashman Handicap Trophy: Sunday 10th July

A date for your diaries to compete for the oldest trophy in the Club dating back to 1938. The Ashman is two circuits of the Abbotsley course (22.4 miles) and is open to all Club members who have posted at least two times in the 2016 season.

Ashman – Fastest Time – Trophy

In addition to the Handicap Trophy there is also a Trophy for the fastest time for the two circuits.
