Williams and Brick post PB’s

Once again, a lovely warm and dry evening for the riders on the line to test themselves against the rolling hills of the 11.2 Abbotsley track for the 5th SNCC TT of the season.

25 riders including 6 guests with Sam McDonald home quickest in 24:14 (only five seconds off his PB) followed by former member of the club Nic Pillinger who managed to find another seven seconds to take his PB down to 24:48 with Simon Elkington third fastest on 25:28. Not often that we get two sub 25 minute times on the same night and well done to Sam and Nic.

Two PB’s from Stuart Williams and Simon Brick who improved their PB’s by 71 seconds and 28 seconds respectively. Congratulations.

A welcome back tonight to Andy Bright a guest who has been riding our TT since the 1990’s and to Mark Halliday a first time guest to Abbotsley.

The ongoing and engaging Bond family duel continues with Richard having his father Martin as his “minute man” which clearly provided an incentive and stimulus with Richard taking 40 seconds out of Martin on the ride. Odd telepathy again as both were 28 seconds off their PB’s.

Welcome to the Club to Annabel and Ruth who have been riding as guests but have now decided to join the Club.

We look forward to more Club members joining us at the TT on a Thursday night.

A few housekeeping reminders to keep us all safe and compliant:

  • remember a working rear light – mandated by CTT
  • try not to ride past the start when other riders are starting
  • be aware of cars and other riders after you finish
  • even before covid, Timekeepers need to be able to concentrate on giving every rider the correct time. Please do not try to see your time until everyone has finished
  • Paying in advance is very helpful and thanks to the 22 riders who have done this. Pay for 6 rides (£4 for member, £5 for guest) to 404010 and 80724513 and credit will be carried over for any unused rides.

NEXT TT – THURSDAY 17th June – 7:15 pm START – SIGN ON BY 7:00 pm at the latest.

Handicap Trophy – 2021

Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight, 25riders and 19 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.

To be in contention to win the 2021 Handicap Trophy you need to ride as close to your PB as possible or set some new PB’s over the next few months.

Congratulations to Stuart Williams for taking the maximum points on offer tonight.
