Sunday dawned dry but ridiculously chilly for July - still, the excellent turn out of 22 riders were grateful for small mercies.  It had been chucking it down for days and the road in Great Staughton was flooded.

Welcome to Andrew McEvoy, Jon Keefe and Paul Reece all of whom have recently joined. The route for the two groups took us via Kimbolton, Spaldwick and Barham where Groups 1 and 2 split on the hill on the northern side of the A14. The route took us via Thrapston and Raunds and back via the Bushmead sprint. Andrew, in Group 2, managed to go too hot into a sharp downhill right hander and parked his bike in the hedge - a few scratches but no serious harm done.  Richard W also failed to keep the shiny side up just past the St Neots sign on the Bushmead road - again no serious damage done.  In spite of the mishaps, the ride was enjoyed by all - a little over 55 miles  for Group 1 and just over 50 miles for Group 2.  The sun is threatening to be out this Sunday, and the weather is forecast warm, so be there.
