So how was it that 12 riders turned up for the club run but only 10 riders left the market square, read on:

Eleven riders braved the wet and cool conditions to take part in this extra club run, prior to the evenings ‘Awards Dinner’.

One of our members, who shall remain nameless (but let’s call him Paul) turned up a little ‘worse for wear’ after an evenings festivities and decided to go and talk to the toilet in Nero’s. After about 10 minutes of conversation, he decided that a ‘duvet day’ was in order. Ade and Gareth even turned up to wave the group goodbye, and I think we detected a glance of envy on their faces. So 10 riders left the Market Square and headed out to the Gransdens then on to Waresley and by the time we reached Potton we were all well splattered with mud. From Everton we continued on to Tempsford but whilst waiting at the level crossing, Stephen Muchmore heard a hissing and noticed his front tyre deflating. So after a quick repair we set off again and within a few minutes met up with Stephen Lyons who had been looking for us.

From Blunham we pushed onto Moggerhanger but as we approached the Northill/Cople junction David Wilson decided that he would take a leisurely ride back to the Market Square. The pack continued on through Old Warden, Cardington and Willington but along the Barford Road it was Jason Dixon's turn to have a puncture. Then from Great Barford we rode through Colmworth and finished off with the ’Bushmead Sprint’ which was won this week by Adrian Bloxham. The group covered 47 miles and although by the end we were all covered in mud, it was a thoroughly enjoyable ride.
