The weather was sunny but there was a chill in the air as the riders who started from Buckden met those who started from the St Neots Market Square at the Snooty tavern for the Good Friday club run. We were a nice group of 17 as we headed up the road towards Kimbolton.

Welcome to Richard Hancock , a returning club member, out for his first Club Run although he has been busy with the Chain Gang on a Wednesday evening. Trevor was out with us for the first time and he is now also threatening to join!! Also, welcome back to Jason Dixon who has clearly been out doing the miles over the winter and whom look forward to seeing on more Club runs. Good to see Phil out with us again and although living in London, he is usually around the area at the weekends and we look forward to seeing him with us again. Two friends of Mark, Graham and Martin, who were with him on his Tour of Flanders trip and have been known to go out with the St Ives club, also joined us.

So we headed out via Kimbolton, up the hill to Catworth, Old Weston, Winwick and Thurning at a steady pace with the sun shining down on us, the pace easy and the chat interrupted only for the odd hill. We stopped at the cafe in Oundle, to fuel up on tea, coffee and cake. We'd more or less finished when David forgot how slippery cleats can be on a hard floor and came down with a crash. It's a long way down for him, but no harm done and we were soon back on our bikes and heading for home.

Things started to get a little more exciting on the B660 as a few of the guys stretched their legs - ending in a bit of a mad dash into Kimbolton. We split here with some of the group heading straight back home while some others turned up the hill to Pertenhall. In all, between 55 and 59 miles depending on the route home, a great run with a good turnout.
