We mainly focus on road cycling but some of our members also ride off-road. The excellent run of dry sunny evenings for our TT eventually had to come to an end. The rain had stopped a few hours before the start of the TT and despite some residual dampness on a few of the corners the conditions were good but a mixture of the heavier air and not quite such a favourable wind resulted in no PBs this evening.Read more ...
Sat Aug 2nd was another hot day with wind at the Inter Club 10 hosted by IRC. This was the fourth event of five to be held in this series. I have been lucky enough to have ridden in 3 of them and have found them to be entirely enjoyable. There is a great sense of camaraderie, whether you are the fast boys of part of the also-rans who are looking at breaking their PB. On Saturday 28th July a team of four racing in SNCC colours took the start line for what is meant to be one of the fastest courses in the area, although the blustery wind had something to say about this.....as did a pre-race burger for one of the squad!Read more ...
On yet another glorious dry and warm evening 22 riders were at the start line for the 14th SNCC TT of the 2018 season . Two very young men – Blake and Lyndon – aged 8 and 11 joined us for their TT debut and although Blake took a wrong turn on the course congratulations to both for competing and completing the 11.2 mile course. Thanks to Wayne for bringing his sons and encouraging them on the start of their cycling adventures.Read more ...
Probably one of the hottest nights of the season did not deter 17 riders from taking the start line for the 13th SNCC TT of the 2018 season on the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course and the conditions suited 4 riders – James Dent, Francis Sykes, Simon Murphy and Simon Elkington – who all posted PBs and clearly relished the thinner air on the night.Read more ...
