One PB for best Season finish
Another week of warm, dry and slightly better wind conditions than previous weeks were on hand to greet the 12 riders ready to test themselves on the challenging 11.2-mile SNCC TT course this evening, although PB’s were hard to come by as we head towards the end of 2019 season.
Simon Murphy was quickest home this evening with a 25:44 followed by Simon Elkington only 3 seconds behind, with Pat Ellerbeck in third spot.
Well done to Richard Bond who managed the only PB of the evening, reducing it by 1 second from his previous best for his 2019 season finish. Pat and Gordon were only 2 and 6 seconds respectively from their PB’s so a good effort from them also, when others struggled.
As the 2019 season end approaches with only 1 race left, the 2019 Handicap Trophy looks like it has Simon Murphy’s name on it with a 14 point lead over Simon Elkington, but in sport anything can happen and I am sure the two Simon’s will be pushing to the very last to determine the true winner next week.
Once again, we must ask all riders to respect the rules of the road especially when approaching and taking the left hand turns on the course. Moving across the white line may improve the racing line for the turn, however if you are on the wrong side of the road and there is an accident the implications for the rider and the future of the course are in jeopardy.

Housekeeping: Reminder that the CTT levy increased to £3/TT for 2019 and a request that once the first riders have lined up for the start that other riders do not ride past the start line as part of their warm-up.

Handicap Results
Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 12 riders and 12 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.
To be in contention to win the 2019 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.
