Just to let you know Leon Bradford who has been a member of St Neots CC for many years, who cycles over 200 miles a week and still breaking his TT records at the age of 78 had a bad accident on Thursday. I attach the message from his daughter Tina, who many of you will know.

"I'm the daughter of Leon Bradford, member of your club. Been posted on Strava, but just to let you know he is in Addenbrookes hospital. On Thursday 19/12 at 14.30 out on his bike, a Landrover pulled out in front of him near Croydon on B1042 about 18 miles from St Neots, Shingay cum Wendy area. He has 2 cracked vertebrae in his neck but thankfully no other injuries. He will be in a neck brace for 3 - 4 months. The driver didn't stop long at the scene and did not leave details. Police are appealing for more witnesses. It was a light coloured Land Rover, will have damage to near side, missing a wing mirror cover which police have retrieved. Any information please call police on 101, incident number 267 and ask for Sgt Stephen Andrews. Would be grateful if you could inform those who know my dad about this and spread the word about appealing for witnesses. Appreciate your help with this. Thank you. Tina"

Wishing all members a HAPPY NEW YEAR.... Get well soon Leon.

Gary Newman ( Chairman) and Steve Walker ( Soc Sec) decided to stand down and we are delighted that Gary Adnitt and

Norman King have agreed to take on these roles for 2019. The Club thanked Gary and Steve for their valuable contributions on

behalf of the Club over the past few years.

The membership sub has been retained at £20  for 2019 we would like all subs to be paid by 31st January to allow membership cards to be prepared and distributed as soon as possible. Existing members who renew after 31/1/19 will pay a sub of £25.

As discussed at the AGM support from the membership is essential to ensure that all the events planned for 2019 take place.

Please pay your subs now

The 2020 subs are now due.

We are asking everyone - existing members renewing as well as new members - to fill in a membership form which you can find here. You can find more information about joining the club here. In order to renew or join the club, fill in and submit the form and follow the instructions on the form for paying your sub. Let's have a great year of cycling in 2020.

St Neots CC has recently made a significant donation to MAGPAS from money raised at our Reliability Ride and from some previous events:

Every Sunday at 8:30

Our club runs continue through the year. We leave from St Neots Market Square at 8:30 every Sunday morning with three distances: 50 - 70 miles; 40 - 50 miles and about 30 miles generally ridden a bit steadier at about 14-15mph.  You don’t have to be a member to sample our club runs and they are a great way to introduce club activities. Click here to find out more about our Sunday club runs.

Having ended 2019 with 151 members it is encouraging to note that so far in 2020 (3/1/20) 48 wise and sensible people have made one of their best investments for the year by renewing or joining the Club for the first time.  It was agreed at the AGM in November that if sub paid before 31/1/20 cost was £20 and £25 for existing members if paid after this date.

We are sure that during January many more will renew their membership

The 2019 Membership Year has ended and you should think about renewing again for 2020. .Despite a few more under 40's and 30'sj joining us the  average age remains at around 43 .

2020 , like 2019 promises to be a busy year for the Club and we look forward to seeing as many of you on the road as possible and all this for only £20.

Distribution by age of the 2019 membership is below

Under 18 3

Every week

St Neots Cycling Club runs a weekly ride for those who have never ridden in a group before or those who feel that the faster longer Sunday runs might be too far or too fast for them. The rides will be held every Sunday leaving St Neots Market Square at 8:30 - the same time as our other Sunday runs. The rides will be about 25 -30miles long at a slower speed of 14 - 15mph. See you there!
