Attending:

Richard Ostler (Chairman & RR)
Alistair Henderson (Treasurer)

Steve Walker (Social)

Treasurer’s Report

  • The Treasurer advised that club finances remain healthy.
  • Club membership currently stands at 133, with 17 new members in 2015. The retention rate is broadly consistent with 2014 and overall membership is up from 131 during the same period last year.
  • The Club is currently holding approximately £1000 of kit as stock.

Racing and Time Trials

  • Purchase of flask (for post-TT tea and coffee) completed. Purchase of x2 first aid kits still outstanding (Action: AMc to speak with Mandy).
  • Turnout for the inter-club TT races has unfortunately been poor overall despite active and regular promotion of the events.
  • Rule changes for the Ashman Handicap Trophy were discussed and it was agreed to limit the handicap to a maximum of 33 minutes for 2015 and from 2016 require that testers qualify for the Ashman Handicap Trophy by racing at least 3 club TTs. No rule changes were proposed to the non-handicap Ashman competitions.
  • NCRA road race season remains a successful one for the club with several top 10 places spread across different riders.
  • It was agreed to affiliate with ERRL for 2016 which would require the club to promote a race. Venue/circuit to be discussed, but a longer version of our current NCRA course could be used.

CCF

  • Nothing to report.

Social Plans

  • A curry night is planned for Friday 17 July (Action: SW).
  • Club Century ride confirmed for 4 August (Action: SW).
  • Club Summer BBQ to be confirmed (Action: SW).
  • A second Family Day was discussed. Date to be agreed (Action: RO).
  • It was noted that while no formal social event would be organised, the Hog and Partridge in St Neots (venue for the Hell of St Neots) are happy to show Tour de France stages on their TV.

Autumn Breeze 2015

  • The sportive is now live on the BC website and we have received a number of entries already.
  • The route has now been agreed and Mark Colmer is investigating feedstation venues.
  • Entrant numbers have been increased to 250 for the event and One Leisure have confirmed they can handle this number.
  • It was agreed to place a limit on the number of Club Ambassador positions from this year.
  • Supported charity for 2015 to be confirmed (Action: AMc).

Bidlake Memorial

  • No updates.

AOB

  • There was some discussion regarding the adoption of a formal accident reporting and logging process. It was agreed to discuss this further at the July committee meeting in conjunction with Sunday club runs.
  • It was noted that the Club had received some very positive feedback from one of our newer members, particularly with regard to the quality of organisation and communication.
  • It was agreed that formal email protocols should be documented and adopted by everyone with access to the club email account (Action: AMc).

July Committee Meeting

  • The July committee meeting will be held at the White Horse in Eaton Socon on Monday 20 July at 19:30.
