Club updates by Norman King...29.06.22

Are you bored, need a challenge then why not ride overnight the Dunwich Dynamo on the 16th Jul leaving  London Fields at 2000 and arriving in Suffolk (yes Suffolk) for breakfast. A night ride of just under 120 miles. There are village halls/pop up cafes and other places open for food, you could even have a beer or two. There's a few logistical challenges, do you cycle to London or get the train before the start? What do you do at Dunwich besides an early morning swim as it's a fair distance back to St Neots (or wherever you live) you need a friend to pick you up or why not do as Simon Richardson did last year and attempt the Dunwich Triangle, I am sure he will update you.

At this time we have 3 confirmed SNCC members and we have a WhatsApp group to discuss our plans, So if you want to be part of a great experience, let us know or write to me directly at (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and we will keep you updated on our plans.

There's not an official route but here's one we used in 2019:-

BROMSWOLD BIKEFEST - September 2021

Bromswold BikeFest is a charity event (in its 7th year) is a number of fully marked cycling routes of various distances with a village fair atmosphere on the cyclists return.

This year we have 7 fully signed road routes from 2 miles (we close the road for this route so the younger children are safe) right up to 71miles. We also have a 21 mile off road route. Before any cycling starts we have a breakfast bar offering bacon, sausage or egg rolls and hot drinks. On the return to the village there is a bbq, beer & pimms tent, Huntingdon Brass Band and fete type stalls for your enjoyment. We are also hoping for a low flypast from the RAF (operational requirements permitting). In previous years they have sent their BBMF memorial flights Spitfire, Hurricane and even the Lancaster.

Every penny raised is split equally between Macmillan Cancer Support, East Anglia's Children's Hospices and MAGPAS Air Ambulance.
