Hello Visitor,
After the snow came the cold and the wind and the rain and the floods and then a bit more snow. The wind in particular has been testing a few legs. But St Neots Cycling Club members have been getting the miles in regardless. As the old boys in their wool jerseys, toe clips and cleats used to say: "Winter miles count double". We had our first very successful Introductory Ride, some of our members have been doing reliability runs, we have planned Heartstart training for next month, and some members have revealed their look-alike doubles. Read on.

First Introductory Ride
Ruth organised our first very successful Introductory Ride with 17 riders turning up to sample riding in a group.

After Ruth had briefed the riders on what to expect, the riders headed off towards Eynesbury. Once out of town, they formed up into a group and experienced the fun of group riding over 25 nice steady miles. Congrats to all who attended and we hope to see you all again on our next Intro Ride or on a club run.

The next Introductory Ride is on Sunday March 3rd at 8:30am in the Market Square. The route can be found here: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/169789994

Heartstart Training
Would you know what to do in the event of a life threatening incident?
First response skills are easy to learn. They could make all the difference to a club member's survival in the case of an emergency. These skills are also relevant to accidents and sudden illness anywhere and anytime. We are organising a Heartstart training session that will give you the basic skills needed on Wednesday 20th March at 7:30pm in the Eaton Ford Community Centre behind the Rainbow Stores. The session is open to club members and partners and will cost £3 a head. If you haven't already booked a place and would like to attend, please contact us through our contact page here.

Breeze Rides for Women
Breeze Rides in association with Sky and British Cycling are rides for women only to encourage women to get into cycling.
St Neots Cycling Club has agreed to publicise the rides local to St Neots - in time, we hope to get women who get hooked on cycling and are looking for more of a challenge to join our club. The planned rides can be found on the Sky Ride website - click on the top left of the homepage and then enter your postcode and tick the "women only" box. Some longer rides will be posted soon. There is also a Facebook page for the local rides here. Even if you are not interested yourself, perhaps some female family member or friend might be.
The next ride is on Friday 1st March at 1:30pm from the Eaton Oak pub in Eaton Ford; followed by Saturday 9th March at Grafham Water at 1pm

St Neots CC at Ely Hardriders 25
Stop Press: Eleven St Neots CC members competed in the Ely Hardriders 25, typically the first Time Trial of the season on Sunday in very hard, wet and windy conditions. St Neots CC's Ian Turner was second overall with a very credible time of 59:48. Congrats to all who competed. Look out on the web site for a full report soon.
In the meantime, read more about St Neots CC members riding this event on the forum.
