Just as Team GB have been experiencing a “gold rush” at the Olympics, St Neots Cycling Club TT riders hit the heights with 12 Personal Bests on a night of superb conditions.

Jane Stapleton took one and a half minutes off her previous PB, Ashley Cooper not only got under 32 minutes for the first time but also under 31 minutes with a superb 30.57, and Rob Black found yet another minute. It was great to see Adrian Lewis go under 32 minutes for the first time with almost a minute improvement.

Our old friend, Kevin Stokes, delivered a 27.14 PB and Richard Hancock, once again, led the field with a 26.26.

NB: The start time for the next TT on the 16th August is 7pm with sign-on from 6.45.

Handicap Trophy Update

Steve Pleasance, with another PB, continues to lead the field with an impressive 137.50 points. However, every move he makes is being covered by Rob Black, who picked up 18 points to move to 130 points. Jonathan is sitting on the bronze medal at the moment with 125 points and should not be discounted as he continues to deliver consistent results. Jane Stapleton and Adrian Lewis have both moved to over a century of points and if they can continue to maintain their recent improvements could still be in contention on 30th August. Wayne Tunnah took another 6 seconds from his PB to keep him within striking distance of the leaders.

So we now have only three TTs left for the 2012 season which ends on 30th August.
