4 PBs this evening at the SNCC TT
Probably one of the hottest nights of the season did not deter 17 riders from taking the start line for the 13th SNCC TT of the 2018 season on the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course and the conditions suited 4 riders – James Dent, Francis Sykes, Simon Murphy and Simon Elkington – who all posted PBs and clearly relished the thinner air on the night.
James went sub 26 minutes for the first time , Simon M sub 28 for the first time and congratulations also to Francis on his first sub 30 minute time.
Our one guest rider this evening was Andrew Knowles who likes our course so much he travels from Ramsey to compete.
Nic Pillinger was fastest home this evening with a 25:03 only two seconds away from his best time this season followed by Tom Stead, who has been missing for a few years from the TT and welcome back, with a 25:43 with James Dent in third with a 25:57.
Once again our thanks to Mandy, Colin and John for the timekeeping duties and to Mandy for supplying the tea and coffee and the wonderful home baking.
Average time this evening was 30:15 and to date 46 members have taken part this season. We would encourage more members to join us on a Thursday evening.

Handicap Results
Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 17 riders and 16 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.
To be in contention to win the 2018 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.
Congratulations to James for finding another 28 seconds of time and securing the maximum points this evening.

Handicap Trophy – 2018 – Running Total
No change at the top of the Handicap Table with Simon Elkington remaining at the top of the leaderboard and he might be the first to have “back to back” wins of the Handicap Trophy. Simon Murphy continues in pursuit and it might now be down to who has the most holidays over the next 6 weeks and how many TT’s will be missed as a result.
Another 6 TT’s with many points still on offer this season.
