See the gallery below for the photos of the Time Trial on the 2nd May 2013. Conditions were excellent for this TT, both for the competitors and the photograper!
On a night for only the brave, and some would say the foolhardy, 10 dedicated members of the Club were in attendance at the 3rd TT of the season. The wind was fierce and at 7pm we had hailstones to add to the already almost sub zero temperature. The wind was blowing bikes over if they were left upright against the time keeper's car and one rider was regretting the short sleeve jersey choice as he stood shivering at the start.
On a glorious evening 30 riders prepared to take on the Abbotsley TT challenge. However, unfortunately, Andrew Kluth managed to puncture during the warm-up, and was not able to start and so we had 29 riders with the wind behind them up to the first turn and then, as usual, the wind does not do anyone any favours for a few miles.
St Neots Cycling Club’s 2013 Time Trial season got underway on the evening of 25 April, with some very welcome spring sunshine tempting a very impressive turnout of 26 riders to contest the first event of the season (which runs every Thursday evening from April to September over a sporting 11.2 mile course).
25th April saw the first Time Trial of the season for the St Neots Cycling Club. The testing 11.2 mile course is the home of the weekly time trials throughout the summer months. The fine weather saw an excellent turnout of 26 riders, with a broad mix of abilities from seasoned regulars to those tackling the course for the first time.
So it is 33 weeks since the end of the 2012 Time Trial season and now only a week away from the start of the 2013 season, life is good and the sun must be due to shine soon. Will all the winter miles be enough to help you improve on 2012 or will you regret the times that you should have been on the Club run but weren't?
