You'll be racing ahead at that pace Stas! Audax is very much about a leisurely pace, think sportive with more moustaches, recumbents and tweed.
Last year we all jumped on the train down to Stevenage, the start is a couple of minutes from the station.
Its a great event and great fun, get signed up!!!!!

Audax has a minimum and maximum time limit unlike sportives, The minimum time limit is calculated on distance x maximum speed of 30kph (18mph) but this does not take into account stops, so for a 100km ride you are not allowed to do any quicker than 3h 20mins.
If you turn up before a control officially opens you have wait to get your card stamped.
The minimum speed is 15kph around 9mph
As Dave said it is a fun day out and a lot cheaper than a sportive also a good introduction to Audax

Hi Ian,
Have you still got the spare place free? I would be more than willing to take it! Offer is half petrol cost, and a post ride coffee/beer/narcotic?!!!!!
Credentials are not many!! Only got into Audaxing last year, but did the Norfolk Nips series and then the CAMBS300 (202 miles).
Let me know, also gonna have a crack on it on my single speed!

The Stevenage event sounds fun - and a bit different from the usual Sunday club run.
Anyone planning to take the train?

It's a 10:00 start isn't it? So I guess the 09:08 from St Neots works for me.

I have a feeling we took the 0808 (from St Neots) train as its a 10-15 minute ride from the station plus you have to sign on and sit around discussing tweed and moustaches over coffee.

Thanks Dave. Bang goes the lie-in!
Its a long day, it was dark by the time I got back to Sandy last year. It is well worth it though, good day out and something different.
