For anyone interested, the NCRA are putting on a series of races at Rockingham speedway this summer.
The races are Thursday evenings starting on 9th May
It's all closed circuit racing, so no cars, and Rockingham is a good place if you're new to racing - excellent surface and broad tarmac built for Indy cars. In the past they've varied the race circuits around the infield and oval, so there is a bit of variety.
There will be entry on the line so, need to book in advance.

If they follow previous years formats it will be one race but handicapped. So 4ths of first, 3rds a few minutes behind and so on

Well it can't be as bad as the only other handicaps i've ridden, BCF hand book said 4ths should have had 10 minutes start on elites, they gave us 4 minutes!!
Once they caught us it was an hour and a quarter of pain!!
Of course i did get blown out the back, as was the custom at the time!!

As Geoff will tell you, it's not a race without pain!
The time gap depends on the race - I've done handicaps with 20minutes between the 4ths and scratch, but that was on the road and the scratch obviously complained! With circuit races you'll never get a 10min gap as the circuit isn't big enough - and 4th cat aren't
that slow either
Previous races at Rockingham the handicapping has been a bit laissez faire, but it's worked well enough, although the paces does lift as the groups join up and guys start attacking.
With Rockingham, and unlike MK you can nearly always see where other riders/groups are too.

It definitely helps you to lift your game, this was the last one i did, finished dead last for the second year running!!

As i came round to start my last lap, i remember looking over my shoulder seeing the bunch bearing down on me for the sprint!! Scary sight!
