Another Chain Gang post

As there has been talk yet again of setting up a slower, alternative chain gang group. How does this idea sound?

Everyone meets on the Market Square at 7, or whatever time is decided. 2 or 3 (I'm being optimistic!)groups form, and we have a chase 'race'. The slower, development group head off first with a sensible time gap, the faster group then set off, and the last group if numbers allows go off.

The idea being each group keeps together, works together and either tries to keep away, catch, or both (if in the middle group.

There will be no prizes, and no rewards for taking undue risk. This is not a RACE!

This sounds somehow familiar ...

I like the sound of that, it would certainly add an additional incentive to chew the stem a little bit more going up the hill from Hargrave.

Just an idea I came up with........

Thought it worked really well, so why not try something similar ourselves and become united for a desire to all want to chain gang

I like that idea a lot, it accomodates everyone and everyone should get what they want from it at a pace they can handle-ish.
Bragging rights will be sufficient reward Im sure.

P.s. can I jave a 40 minute headstart please

for information there will be a CG leaving the Market Sq at 7:00PM tonight.

We should be able to get to the turn before lights need to go on.

Shall we try this new format tonight?
If people are interested in the Chain Gang be at the market square to be ready to leave at 7.

Please indicate if you are coming along or not so I can think about the groups and time gaps.

Hi there W..why change something that works,,if only 5 turn up what are you going to do..have a TT and set off at minute intervals ??OK OK I will close now because this Chain Gang episode ends in tears, for me just turn up, hang on for as long as you can, keep going turn round when they are coming back and have a gung ho for the sign on the A1 bridge. .see ya on the 8th, wheels are polished.G ..........
