Beds Road CC inter-club TT & Hill Climb Series

well reminded; I'll give a chase to organisers as not only does one of the dates seem to clash with the Tour of Cambs sportive, but I struggled to get the on-line system to accept entries

The good news is that the first inter-club TT is now just two weeks away and there are already riders of both sexes and most ages (15 - 69 years old so far, with average of 42.9) booked to ride; the not so good news is that so far we only have a team of two representing St Neots CC.

the F15 course www.strava.com/segments/1079972 is nice and fast (with a downhill start you don't have to go back up again!) and almost traffic free now there is a dual-carriageway the other side of the fence

I'm sure you're thinking this is too good to be true; well it gets better - £3 is the entry fee

FYI, i have just signed up for the TT on 18th. Easy peasy to register and i would urge anyone interested to do it. Plenty of normal roadbikers like me doing it.

good work those that have signed-up; we're up to a team of six, but plenty of room for everyone else - a couple of the other clubs have 12-15 each riding, hopefully we can at least close to that number from SNCC

average age now down to a sprightly 42.7 years old, and 1 in 10 entrants are ladies if that gives anyone an extra spur to make their mark on the demographics!

Well done everyone for giving St Neots CC a competitive (and enjoyable) debut in the inter-club competition. I'm sure the numbers are being crunched for the team contest, but I'm guessing Ashwell can be fairly confident of having taken maximum points this time out. I'm hoping we get bonus points for all having finished in the closest times to each other

As you'll see, we suffered from only having seven scoring riders in a competition where the team's best eight scores count.

A positive point was that even with having to rely on all of our individual scores to go towards our team score, two of the other four teams had individual riders scoring lower points than any of us managed as part of their team scores.

Hopefully a bigger team for next time will see us not just being competitive as individuals, but also as a team

If you've ridden one of our club TTs you're more than ready to represent your club in this event - if you look at the result from the first event you'll get an idea of the range of abilities; the important thing is to ride, anything after that is a bonus!
