Beds Road CC inter-club TT & Hill Climb Series

The final event saw us again only send a team of four riders to an event where your best eight riders score points. As such, it was always going to be a struggle to hang on to our 'not last' place ahead of Icknield Road in the overall series (and this was before one of our squad was faced with a choice of riding in the slippers he'd driven over in or the football boots lurking in the boot of the car) - fortunately we operate a no blame culture, so we need never speak of this mishap ever again

Unfortunately we scored 143 points to Icknield's 274 points on the day, so what had been a slender lead ended up being a 120 point deficit as we made last place our own. The mathematicians amongst you will have spotted that an extra four riders scoring points at the same rate as the four we had would have seen us edge ourselves out of wooden spoon spot an into mid-table obscurity.
