Well done to Sam and Pat at their respective TT and Road Race on Saturday. It's great to see how our members do in races. We are approaching a busy TT and Road Race season so if you can send your results in it would be great.

Kings Lynn CC 25-mile TT Apr 1st 23 - Sam MacDonald

On Saturday 1st April I rode the Kings Lynn CC 25-mile TT. What should have been a straightforward out-and-back, flat course turned into a real test due to strong wind, cold temperatures and heavy drizzle. The way out was nice and fast, but I had to be wary of gaps in hedges where gusts could blow me sideways. After the turn it became really tough, fighting back into the cross-headwind whilst trying to stay as aerodynamic as possible and ignoring how cold my hands and feet were! I crossed the line in 55:54 for second place which was better than I expected, and if I had a bit more luck with traffic I could have been very close to the winning time. Overall, there was plenty to be pleased about and I hope to keep on building this form into upcoming TTs.

NCRA handicap road race Apr 1st Old Circuit - Pat Ellerbeck

Today's race on the Old circuit, I started in the first group, broke off the front with 2 others, then caught by a couple of riders from group 2 with 12 miles to go, our group then splintered, I then went into TT mode for a lap before being caught by the scratch group with 3 miles to go, I eventually finished 21st which is a big improvement on the last race, I am enjoying the flat out racing and learning as I go along. Great not to be a domestique which is the usual format in vets racing.
