Our first Time Trialist of the season rode at the Ely Hardriders 25 on Sun 11th Feb. It will be no surprise that it was Pat Ellerbeck and he also provided a race report (guys/gals please keep the race reports coming in this year).

Pat rode on the BS19 course near Ely and finished 5th road bike (15th overall) in 1.05.32. Well done Pat we know this will be the first of many TTs and Crits for you this season.

Pat's race report

On a balmy Feb morning I managed to negotiate the flooded and closed roads to eventually arrive at Ely Hardriders HQ. A  quick warm up then down to action. Roads surprisingly good apart from the odd puddle, made a fast start and caught my minute man within 5 miles, then it was just a matter of holding the power for the remaining 20 miles! A 2 mile stretch of poor road into a slight headwind slowed things a bit, but finished in 1.05.32 average speed nearly 23 mph on a road bike and for the more technically minded normalised power of 261 watts, a bit lower than I hoped for but it was first race of the season.
