25th April saw the first Time Trial of the season for the St Neots Cycling Club. The testing 11.2 mile course is the home of the weekly time trials throughout the summer months. The fine weather saw an excellent turnout of 26 riders, with a broad mix of abilities from seasoned regulars to those tackling the course for the first time.

Although the weather was on the riders’ side’ with a fine dry evening and little wind, the poor road surface in some places was against them. Despite this, some very respectable times were produced with seven riders getting round in under the elusive 30 minute mark (which equates to an average speed of 22.4 mph). Fastest time of the evening was posted by Richard Hancock, who picked up where he left off last season. Our youngest competitor, Tom Stead, was second, which is a excellent result. Congratulations to all who competed and we are looking forward to seeing you all again next week.
