TT Results – 6th June

A record number of riders were out this evening with 31 willing to test themselves on our challenging 11.2 mile sportive course. Making their club debuts were Tom Yewbery and Hastan Brooks with young Tom almost breaking the 30 minute mark. Welcome back to Mick Lawrence for his first TT of this season and congrats managing a PB of 28.36.

A north-easterly wind made for a fast first three miles and Chris Ritchie took full advantage leading the way home with a 26.13, the second fastest time of the season followed by guest Paul Davies in 27.10 and Adrian Taverna maintaining his consistent form  with a 28.22 in third place.

David Lindsay went under 30 minutes for the second time this season to deliver a PB of 28.41 and congratulations to Mark Greenhow who took two minutes out of his PB and Simon Richardson who worked very hard to take a minute out his previous PB. Overall there were ten improvements on the night.

This Thursday’s time trial takes place at the Croxton junction about a mile to the east of Abbotsley village with sign on at 7pm for a 7.15pm start. Non members are welcome to “Come and Try”

Handicap Trophy

Mark Greenhow took the maximum points on the evening with 23 (guests and first time riders do not count towards the points) with Chris Ritchie’s 22 points pushing him into contention for this year’s Trophy. Jon Keefe and Adrian Taverna continue to lead the field. However, on their wheels are Chris, Jonathan, David and Gareth and a few more evenings with lots of points on offer and a few PBs thrown in the final destination for the trophy remains wide open. Don’t discount Simon and Andy who, if they keep improving their times, could easily make a late run for the trophy.
