First Time Trial of the Season - Wilson & Pillinger Take the Honours...

The first night of the SNCC TT season had 23 riders at the start of the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course on a cold but dry evening. Seven first timers along with 16 “old hands” made up the starting group and we were delighted to see new member Dave Richards at a mere 66 years joining us. Also a welcome back to Aaron Bird who has been “missing in action” for the last 3 years.

Nic Pillinger took the honours on the night with the fastest TT of 26m 28s followed by three riders – Christian, Dan and David all posting sub-28 minutes which included Personal Bests for both Christian and Dan.

Congratulations also to Gary Newman, Aaron Bird and David Wilson for their PBs bringing the total of PBs to 5 for the night.

First timer Simon Rinaldo set an impressive sub 30 minute time of 29m 06s for his first TT and Andrew Phillips tells us that he last rode the course in 1997 with a time of 33 minutes so he was pleased with his 31m 24s.

Handicap Trophy

16 points were on offer this evening (the 7 first-timers do not count) with those posting PBs taking the top 5 places, and congratulations to David Wilson for improving on his PB by 2m 38s to take the 16 points and lead the 2015 Handicap Trophy table. With a further 17 TT’s until the end of the season it's very difficult at this point to gauge who will be in contention by the end of August. However to keep in the points you need to keep improving on your PB or be very consistent around your PB time.
