3 PBs and Elkington edges in front

The 16th SNCC TT of 2018 attracted 20 riders to the start line including 6 guests and a warm welcome to Katia Rietdorf a current National Champion ( see her 2018 achievements below) and a welcome back to Tina Worbey , Leon Bradford’s daughter.

Tom Stead improved his PB by 8 seconds to deliver a 25:06 and was fastest home on the evening and is edging ever closer to a sub 25 minute time. Andrew Knowles, one of our regular guest riders, was second also with a PB followed by Simon Elkington in third spot with a 26:31.

3 PB’s this evening led by Richard Bond who found another 16 seconds, Mark Fryer another 10 seconds and Tom. Richard has now acquired the bragging rights in the Bond family and is now quicker than his father for the first time this season.

Average time this evening was 31:13 and to date 51 members have taken part this season. We would encourage more members to join us on a Thursday evening and if you have not taken part this season then why not try one of the last 2 TT’s of this year.

Let’s have as many riders as possible for the next TT’s.

Next TT – Thursday 23rd August – Sign on by 6.45 and Start at 7.00 pm

 Handicap Results

Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 20 riders and 14 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.

To be in contention to win the 2018 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.

Congratulations to Richard on taking the maximum points

Handicap Trophy – 2018 – Running Total

Simon Elkington has increased his lead to 9.5 points in the absence of Simon M and it will be the last 2 TT’s of the season which will decide the destination of the 2018 Handicap Trophy.

Simon was telling us that he delayed his family holiday to Cornwall until the Friday morning to allow him to acquire more points. We are not sure what Mrs E’s reaction was to this however the 8 points from tonight could be significant.
