Another good night for Murphy

19 riders this evening to test themselves on the 11.2 mile Abbotsley course. Conditions were favourable helped by a noticeable drop in the wind at the start which improved the 3 mile run up to the golf club turn.

Simon Elkington was fastest home this evening and only one second from his PB , followed by Simon Murphy who posted yet another PB and this means that he has now taken 1:37 from his 2018 PB with James Dent ,ex member of the Club taking third spot.

The night only produced two PB’s and congratulations to Wayne Hamilton who managed to find another 53 seconds and to Simon M for finding another 22 seconds.

The Inter Club TT attracted 60 riders last Sunday for the 15-mile TT including 13 riders from St Neots. 6 members made their Inter Club debut and the feedback from all was that it was a very enjoyable event. This is a chance to test yourself on new courses and also to represent the Club. To date SNCC has not won the IC and with more riders taking part then 2019 could be our year. The next event is the 30-mile TT on Sunday 23rd June. There is a complete range of abilities taking part so why not sign up now.

Housekeeping : Reminder that the CTT levy increased to £3/TT for 2019 and a request that once the first riders have lined up for the start that other riders do not ride past the start line as part of their warm up.

Next TT – Thursday 6th June – Sign on by 7.00 and Start at 7.15 pm

Handicap Results

Quick reminder that for the Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 19 riders and 14 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.

To be in contention to win the 2019 Handicap Trophy you need to do as many TTs as you can and ride as close to or improve on your PB consistently until the end of the season.

Congratulations to Wayne for taking the maximum 14 points this evening.
