Winter wins Club TT H/C Championship 2023  …

So on a cool, overcast and eventually drizzly night the last ever (or is it) Abbo TT was held. Even 4 spectators (Simon Murphy, Simon Elkington, John Brysdon and Norman King) were there to see our intrepid riders set off. Tension was high (OK I am building this up) but it was only 2 points between Adam Williams and Simon Winter.

Couple of historic group photos were taken and all riders had individual pictures taken. So 12 riders set off (11 members and 1 guest) no PBs, but considering the conditions some good times, fastest on the evening Adam Williams, fastest on handicap Richard Slade (not Paul Williamson as stated on the night). So despite what we said on the night, that it was a draw (Simon Winter 6 points, Adam WIlliams 8 points) the overall winner is Simon Winter. The Webmaster has shown the correct results, blame the Chairman's maths. To celebrate the last Abbo (or is it?) the riders were busily quaffing beer and soft drinks. Flowers were given to Flo and a bottle of wine to George.

So an event like this lasting 19 events does require volunteers and i am listing them individually:-

George Lendrum Timekeeper and Pusher Off (aka as Flo's Assistant)

Flo Lendrum Chief Timekeeper

George and Flo stood in at the last minute and stayed for the season, Flo also gave up wild swimming and netball and is not a club member.

Other timekeepers - Simon Richardson, Mike Biggs and Norman King.

Putting out or taking in signs - Nic Pillinger (and thanks for storing the signs), Norman King, Jim Robertson and Frances Lammyman.

Results/Reports Publishing - Martin Bond

So see you next season, where we will let you know.

TT#19 Handicap Points

The Handicap Trophy points are awarded for the number of riders on the night less Guests and First Time Members. So tonight 12 riders and 11 points on offer. A Handicap Time of 25 minutes or less means that you have either matched your PB or improved on it. A Handicap Time greater than 25 minutes shows how much you are off your PB.

Congratulations to Richard Slade for taking the maximum points on offer tonight.
