On this cool and wet Sunday morning only 7 riders turned out for the club run. I guess everyone else had more important appointments with the ‘Easter Bunny’.
And so it was we left the market square following our ‘On the Hoof’ Sat Nav (a club special), out along the Bushmead road onto Bolnhurst, Riseley and Upper Dean where we negotiated ‘Bombers Bend’ without having to call in the Air Ambulance.
Then on to Hargrave, Keyston and with a quick hop over the A14 to Bythorn where we met a bucking horse (and rider) in the middle of the road and came to an immediate halt. We wondered what spooked the animal only to see St Ives CC coming towards us - enough to scare anyone! St Ives CC then took refuge in a gateway until the horse and rider went past.
From here we went on to Old Weston where Richard H had a puncture and we decided that group 2 should continue whilst Richard and the boys repaired the tyre.
Group 2 rode on to Barham, Spaldwick, Stonely and back to St Neots covering about 50 miles.
Group 1 carried onto the Giddings, Spaldwick, Little Staughton then back to St Neots and covered about 60 miles.
