I would encourage all riders from the club to take part in these next season. At any level this will bring you something a little different.

We should target these races as a club to win some silverwear and have some great attendance. We have the riders, lets have the willingness

Results from the 25m inter-club held on Sunday. Despite only managing to field a team of five riders (with club scores taking best eight performances) we managed to avoid the wooden spoon, but with our resources perhaps should really be aiming a bit higher than dodging last place.

I think that with just one more rider we would have run HNCC close for third place, and with a full team of eight (or even more) we could look at challenging CCA & BRCC for top spot. That said, and as you'll see from the spread of results, its not just all about who has the fastest pointy-hats but is supported by riders of all ages, sexes and abilities across each of the other clubs and would be very good to see us approaching it in a similar way next year.

The final event of this year is the Hill Climb on 4th Oct and hopefully we can continue to grow our impact on both the results table and startsheet

Dear All - the final event of the inter-club series is the hill climb at Sharpenhoe on Sunday 4th Oct with first riders off at 10.30 and the local pub being used as event HQ

As ever, entry is via the Beds Road 'Book to Ride' system which remains sufficiently idiot-proof for me to have successfully navigated it on every occasion so far.

It really would be good to get as many of us as possible to compete and hopefully continue the upwards progression from the last event where we scorched into 4th place despite only having half a team

It would also probably be very good practice for our own event the following week

Is anyone planning on taking part in this event? Just had a look and nobody from SNCC has entered. I'm up for it if anyone else is doing it?

I have entered the hill climb.

Sharpenhoe eh..... oooohhh that's a pretty tough hill.

I'll enter then, saw the points table on BRCC and somehow we are not bottom but only by about 3 points so if we get a few doing this we could avoid the wooden spoon!.

thats now three of us entered; so just five more to go before anyone has to worry about their performance potentially not counting towards our team score.......

...........and as one of those three is me, it is highly unlikely anyone reading this won't be quicker uphill than at least one of our team

I have decided to enter this to help the club, as I must confess my membership over the past few years has been a bit one sided. Never done anything like this before so it will certainly be interesting!!

Strava suggests that people take anywhere from 2 1/2 to 35 1/2 mins to get up the hill, so I'll be astonished if you're not within that time range!

Headquarters - The Chequers, Public House, Sharpenhoe Road, Streatley, LU3 3PS.

The signing on sheets and your numbers will be in the Smokers Hut in the Car Park of the Public House which is at the front of the building; this will be available from 10am.

A cup of tea or coffee will be provided by the Pub from 11am onwards, please hand your number to the Club Officer in the Bar area and he will arrange for you to get your tea or coffee.

Course Details

6X/H (0.6 miles) Sharpenhoe - Hill Climb
Start (Grid ref. TL 064 304) on unclassified road (Sharpenhoe – Streatley) by southern gate of field
entrance some 87 yards south of Sharpenhoe village 40mph sign.
Finish opposite where a 13% decent warning sign on right hand side of the road used to be - brilliant!

The entry fee is £4.00 each rider payable when signing on, £2.50 for under 18 year olds.
