Strava displaying silly MAX speeds was created by AndyJ
Hi All

My Strava runs are showing that I have been doing silly speeds. 53 MPH down hill from St Neots Station, 48 MPH through St Neots town Center. I don't want a speeding ticket !! I do know that there ain't any chance that I did these speeds, I'm just to old..and I have a cold.

Anyone seen this before, have tried resetting my iPhone (6) and reinstalling, but still getting these speeds either I'm really speeding or I need to find a new phone.

These speeds are really upsetting my averages.

you weren't speeding nor do you need a new phone. What you've done is had it demonstrated just how unreliable the Strava App is on something not intended as a dedicated GPS device. I'd keep a big pinch of salt handy in future....... ;)

look how many spurious KOM's there are..a rider averages 23kph but grabs a uphill KOM at 53kph impossible, there are 100's out there ah ah G

I think you are dead right Simon, an iPhone is not a dedicated GPS device.
After doing 61 MPH Backwards today, basically proves it

It looks like I need to wait a few minutes with the GPS on, before setting off. This should give it time to settle, then put it in my back pocket to allow a better signal reception. (any one seen the jokes about the bendy iPhone 6, lol)
