Rich H just posted on Twitter that he uses the track outline for run training - so it clearly exists today.
We should definitely look at resurrecting it and staging a retro race there.

i GS i will fly over in my Bell 1120/Q/A/R and take some photo's myself, Maureen will follow on in the Bentley ah ah.it is the latest google earth, but when any land work has been done you can clearly see it. just look at old roman villa's and route's of ancient byways...

i do not think it would take much convincing that if the grass is cut (local cricket/golf club) and marked out with a white roller paint thingy (football club) it could be a very interesting 1 off cycling event..

i am back in town from the 1st of July...will have a good poke around.

Some of the banking still remains all be it covered in grass. I go over the park a fair bit and have always wondered what they are.

Hi Chris it would be interesting if any trace of red shale is visible, they used that for bankings, very long shot, may go down with my spade and have a dig ah ah see ya soon G... :S :S

Hi yes i went to the museum and they were surprised to learn of the track,,i am seeing the curator next week, he was quite keen to see the outline and was very enthusiastic to try and arrange if possible a " one off cycle "event, i will keep you up to date.Geoff
