Cycling Nutrition / Hydration Presentation at University of Bedfordshire (Bedford campus)

The club has been contacted by a PhD student at the University of Bedfordshire who is conducting research focusing on hydration and fuelling for endurance cyclists.

The PhD student, Sean Sage, is supervised by Mike Newell, who is a St Neots resident and ex SNCC member.  Mike wrote the excellent Abbotsley Course Guide about our TT course.  If the Abbo guide is anything to go by, the current research will be very well thought through and presented.

Sean plans to provide a presentation on Wednesday 8 March, starting at 19:30 and lasting approximately 40 minutes.  The talk will cover fuelling and carbohydrate intake, hydration and sodium supplementation.  Sean will also be looking for candidates to take part in future studies.  Other local clubs have been invited, so it should be a good networking opportunity as well as an opportunity to plug the Cycle for Ukraine ride later in March.
