Bike problem help

Got an issue with my bike that a few of you may have heard out on rides..

Out of the saddle i get a clunk when the right pedal gets to bout 5 o'clock, it's really annoying!!

Swapped the bottom bracket out last night, and it hasn't made any difference (feels like the bearings were gone any way, so needed doing)

It doesn't make the noise on the turbo, and it is only ever when i'm out of the saddle.

Have already tried swapping the back wheel and cassette, as well as the BB, none have made any difference.

Starting to get concerned that there's a crack in the frame or something, but guess it could still be pedals, handlebars, crank.

Someone suggested on twitter it could be lose bottle cage bolts but they all seem tight.

All ideas greatly appreciated.

Is there any corrosion on the shaft the goes through the bottom bracket ?

Not that i saw, and gave i all a good clean when it was in pieces.

All seemed good and smooth!

have you tried different pedals ? Geoff

Unfortunately only have one pair that i have cleats for! So haven't as yet!

Might have to stick a pair of shimano on it and get the GF to take it put for a spin, her shoes won't fit, and need adapters to get those cleats on my shoes!!

Though that said the bearings aren't 100% smooth, so it's a good option!!

Yup, all as tight as i can get them by hand!

its water in your bottom bracket..soak it with WD40 , dry it off then fill it with 3 in 1 oil..G

What about your chain ring? If it always happens at 5 o'clock, unlikely to be anything to do with the rear wheel / cassette as they can be at different positions while the crank is at 5' oclock.

If teeth are worn or bend on the chain ring, it can cause the chain to jump causing a clunk noise. Often will only materialise under real force, such as being out of the saddle.

If you are in the inner chain ring does it still happen?
