SNCC TT results - 26th May 2016

Veteran of the SNCC TT Richard Hancock, after missing the 2015 season, made a winning return to the podium securing a three second win over Course record holder Ian Turner also making his 2016 debut. Good to see Richard and Ian back on the Abbotsley track once again.

Splitting the SNCC riders was one of our regular guests, Karl Hiner , before Simon Rinaldo and David Lindsay took fourth and fifth spots with sub 27 minute times.

Comments from the 31 riders on the night were mixed with some feeling the climb up by the golf course was tough whilst nine others took full advantage of the conditions to post PB’s.

Some notable PBs including Steve Owens, Pat Ellerbeck, Danny Brooks and Daniel Biggs who improved their PBs by 2:47, 2:07, 1:32 and 1:23 minutes respectively. Congratulations to Steve and Pat for going sub 30 minutes for the first time and also to young Daniel Biggs (age 14) for the improvement on his PB and his target is now to catch his Dad (Mike) by the end of this season! At the other end of the age spectrum is Pat Ellerbeck who is in his 60’s and 27:53 is a very respectable time to post.

Handicap Results – 26th May

With 25 points on offer (Guests and First Timers do not count) this was another good night to achieve a PB ( a time under 25 minutes is a PB and time over 25 minutes is how much you are over your PB) and congratulations to the following 9 who achieved PB’s on the night – Steve Owens , Pat Ellerbeck , Danny Brook , Daniel Biggs , Simon Murphy , Tony Chin , Tim Gee , Chris Green and Sam MacDonald ( his fifth PB in successive weeks) .

Taking the maximum points was Steve Owens making up for the disappointment of the previous week when he punctured and chapeau to Pat Ellerbeck for an excellent time to take second place followed by Danny Brook who is now targeting a sub 30 minute time.

Handicap Results – Total

After 5 TTs this season the destination of the 2016 Handicap Trophy remains wide open with many riders still in contention and with 13 rides left there are many points on offer for the riders who can maintain consistency around or improve on their PB’s.

Last year holidays were delayed by some riders to ensure that they remained in contention for the trophy and missing a couple of TT’s can easily see you move down the leader board.

Sam McDonald continues to lead the way with the ever consistent Keith Barton close behind and watch out for Jane Kinnaird, Danny Brook, Pat Ellerbeck and Chris Green who are all poised for any slip up by the current leaders.
