SNCC TT results for Thursday 30th June 2016
Conditions were far from ideal as 34 riders lined up at the start line to test themselves against the challenging 11.2 mile Abbotsley TT course. Many were huddling under any available hedge to keep themselves dry and others were seeking warm tops to prevent getting too cold and wet before the racing commenced.
Unlike the previous week when the rain relented at 7pm for the start this week it gained revenge as the heavens opened almost on cue for the first rider and the next 15 before the rain abated. The later riders had the better conditions.
An excellent turn out at the TT with 34 riders ( 5 guests) matching the 34 we had on 12th May and taking the average number of riders for the 10 TT’s this season to 25.
As can be seen from the times many riders were not pushing as hard as they might, preferring an element of caution especially on the corners as the residue from the rain was slow to clear and also it was a cold evening.
Leading the way home tonight with a 26:20 was the ever consistent Nic Pillinger followed by Simon Rinaldo with a 27:23 and guest rider Ian Day taking third spot with a 27:26.
The course was not going to yield many PBs given the conditions. However, this did not deter Sam Macdonald, Tom Dunkley and Simon Murphy from posting PBs and congratulations to all three and a welcome back to Tom making his 2016 TT debut.
47 members so far this season have taken part in the TT and with 150 current members there are many of you out there who have not yet sampled the delights and with only 8 TTs left this season we would encourage you to make time and come down and try. You will not regret the decision.
7th July 2016
This Thursday’s time trial takes place at the Croxton junction about a mile to the east of Abbotsley village with sign on at the latest at 6.45pm for a 7.00pm start. Non-members are welcome to "Come and Try".

Handicap Results – 30th June
This was the night to set a PB or to be as close to your PB as possible to obtain a share of the 29 points on offer (guest riders do not count for the Handicap points) and Tom, Sam and Simon took full advantage with their respective PBs.
A time under 25 minutes is a PB and your time over 25 minutes is how far you were from your PB.
